Know your right to vote – Kansas and Missouri

With options to vote in advance, do I still have to provide our employees leave from work to vote? We operate our business in Kansas, but many of our employees live in Missouri, which state law should we follow? It’s a fine line.

Recent close elections, where winners and losers were separated by small numbers of votes, underscore the point that every #vote matters. As the Presidential and key state and local elections take center stage, employers are reminded to ensure HR and supervisors are familiar with company policy and laws permitting employees time off from work to vote.
