Black History Month 2021

February 2, 2021

FineLine HR Consulting is proud to join our nation in celebrating Black History Month.

In February 1926, the second week of February was designated to recognize and honor the many achievements by African Americans and their central role in US history.  This particular week was selected because it coincides with the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln (February 12th) and abolitionist/writer Frederick Douglass (February 14th).  In 1976, as part of the nation’s bicentennial, the week of recognition was expanded to a month.

The 2021 Black History Month theme is “Black Family:  Representation, Identity and Diversity.”
