Julie Riggle McKee
Julie McKee has a wide breadth of experience working in a variety of roles throughout her career, including serving as General Counsel of a medical device company, Spinal Simplicity LLC, owning and successfully selling a Human Resources Consulting Firm, FBD Consulting, LLC, and achieving equity Partner in a large, national law firm, now known as Stinson Leonard Street. Julie brings her combined experience from each of these unique positions to advise and counsel clients on a wide variety of employment-related legal and HR consulting matters.
Throughout her career, Julie has been a strong advocate for the importance of pro-active HR initiatives to help companies stay ahead of the curve on employment-related matters. Julie routinely engages with clients to develop HR strategies that ensure compliance, while focusing on the importance of people and workplace culture. She furthered these efforts by authoring the book, “Lifeguard, Babysitter, Executioner: A Real-World Guide to Hiring, Firing & Building a Winning Workforce.”
Julie is a highly sought-after public speaker and trainer having provided training and workshops to clients across every industry ranging in size from 5 to 5,000+ employees on a wide variety of employment-related topics. Julie also led the development of a HR consulting platform for a publicly-traded insurance brokerage firm, National Financial Partners.
Julie is a proud Jayhawk and graduated with Distinction from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Administration & Communications. She received her Juris Doctorate degree with Honors from Washburn University School of Law where she was an Editor of the Washburn Law Review.
Julie is a Co-Founder and Board Member of the “Big Slick Celebrity Weekend,” a philanthropic event that has raised over 8 million dollars in the past 9 years for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, and their three daughters, Mallory, Chandler and Brooke.
