Alison Sheehan
Alison Sheehan has dedicated her entire career to human resources. Prior to joining FineLine HR Consulting as a Member and Consultant, she was Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources for Premiere Global Services (“PGi”), a world leader in virtual collaboration solutions. At PGi, as head of HR she led a team of HR professionals throughout North America, Europe, India, APAC and Japan with responsibility for over 1,800 employees in more than 20 countries. Alison has had responsibility for global strategies for talent acquisition; performance management; workforce restructuring and reductions; compensation and benefits; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; management development; compliance; employee relations; and, as a member of the company’s Executive Team, played a key leadership role in developing and supporting corporate culture initiatives.
Over her career, she has handled or overseen virtually every aspect of human resources on a global basis, but she’s really a true HR generalist. Alison has found herself most often rolling up her sleeves to help handle sticky people issues, to resolve problems before they become problems. She also likes to use her skillset to help advise, guide and lead; not to obstruct or impede, in order to help organizations and leadership teams carefully navigate the “grey zone.”
Prior to joining PGi in 2001, Alison held HR leadership roles in three of Kansas City’s major employers: Blue Cross and Blue Shield-KC, The Kansas City Star, and Payless Cashways.
Alison is an avid University of Kansas fan as a two-time graduate, with a bachelor’s degree in Personnel Administration and a Masters of Business Administration. She is an advocate for both people and animals, serving as a current board member of the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, past board member of the HRMA of Greater Kansas City, and past member of UMKC’s HR Advisory Board. In 2013, the Kansas City Business Journal recognized Alison as one of Kansas City’s Top 25 “Women Who Mean Business.” In 2014, she was nationally honored as an ABA “Silver Stevie” winner for Human Resources Executive of the Year.
When Alison isn’t solving a people-based problem for an organization or watching a KU basketball game, you can find her playing golf or traveling to a place that has excellent weather (and a golf course). She and her fellow colleagues at FineLine HR believe that their relationships with each other and their clients are precious and should never be taken lightly. Alison’s motto when moving through the world revolves around one tried and true principle: “Find the right way to do the right thing.”
